Harold Camping, a 89-year-old Christian radio entrepreneur, predicted that judgment day would be upon us at 6 P.M on May 21, 2011 which did not come to fruition. The prophecy gained much traction in large part due to a multimillion dollar advertising campaign that kept the internet and news agencies smoldering with activity. As dooms day falls short of reality it provides a good opportunity to examine how information maneuvers from hearsay to fact and in the same manner across the globe. The digital age provides an unbelievable opportunity to project our shy nonthreatening voice to the masses and the listeners on the other end can slice and dice the original thought for their own gains. The power of voice has always been a powerful tool but now the power to listen and interpret will grow in leaps and bounds.
